“How to Tie a Whipping Knot” by Mark Tustian

This type of knot is used a lot in archery as it’s a good way of securing your serving to your bowstring, put a knocking point on your bowstring and even by some people who used it when tying their fletchings to their arrows!

The way I remember to do it is to think of a the knot like an Egyptian mummy that needs wrapping from it’s feet to it’s head.  Take your time and remember to keep the string pulled tight while it’s being wrapped!
